New Plugin – Arconix FAQ

The latest plugin in my collection is Arconix FAQ. This plugin uses custom post types to allow users an easy way to add and maintain FAQ’s on their websites. These FAQs can be displayed using the included shortcode ‘faq’ with , or for developers or advanced WordPress users, you can use the built-in post type […]

Quick Update v1.0.1

I just released v1.0.1 last night… fixed a couple small CSS issues (tabs with longer titles should look much better now) and a goofy problem dealing with which accordion is loaded when a page renders. You can get the update from your WordPress dashboard as it should already be alerting you by now.

Shortcodes v1.0 Released

I happy to say I finished up and released version 1.0 of my shortcodes plugin a couple days ago. I completely re-wrote the codebase, improving and cleaning up where possible. I also added a couple requested items — ability to hyperlink to a specific tab and image indicators for the accordions. You can read about […]

Progress Report – Tab Linking

One of the requested features for Arconix-shortcodes v1.0 was to add the ability to link to a specific tab of a tab group. While it seemed easy enough, there were a couple things to keep in mind, and I thought it’d represent a good opportunity share the though process behind choosing the default behavior I […]

An Update to Arconix Shortcodes

After a couple misfires, I released v0.9.5 of Arconix Shortcodes today. This version should finally fix any jQuery conflicts between my plugin and other properly coded plugins. Big thanks to WordPress.org user gasie for pointing out the source of the bug. I’m still working on v1.0 of the plugin, but it’s not likely to be […]

Show Off Your Portfolio

My second plugin has been released, Arconix Portfolio. It’s a plugin which uses custom post types to store information about each item in your digital portfolio. Using a simple but powerful shortcode allows you to output those items into any page, post or widget. Apply your image using the Featured Image box, and set any […]

Arconix Shortcodes v0.9.2

I released a new version of the Arconix Shortcodes plugin over the weekend. This update adds a global flag that controls whether the jQuery Tools and my binding javascript is loaded or not. This has the benefit of a slightly faster-loading site as the 2 scripts won’t be loaded if unneeded, and hopefully will help […]

Preparing a Portfolio

In the continued effort of separating design from content, the next plugin I’ll be releasing is a portfolio plugin. This plugin will enable a user to create various portfolio items for display on their website, while providing them with the flexibility of changing themes without losing data. The plugin utilizes WordPress Custom Post Types and […]

Changing Default Attributes

Many shortcodes in the Arconix Shortcodes plugin have options which allow you to alter how the shortcode looks or functions, whether it be to change the default size, color, style, etc… For example, the default button is medium sized and white in color. If I wanted to make a big blue button, I’d enter the […]
