Arconix Portfolio v1.4.0

Another plugin that hasn’t received a great deal of love recently is my portfolio plugin. The last official release was October of 2013. This update brings about a couple of new features, an integration with another Arconix plugin and some general usability improvements.

The user-requested feature with this release was the ability to hyperlink the Portfolio Title in addition to the image. That ability was added as a shortcode parameter. Simply add title_link=true to your shortcode and that will enable the feature.

When adding and updating portfolio items, the settings box has been improved. The external link destination box will now only show when the user chooses “external” as the destination. This will hopefully remove the confusion a few of you expressed to me.

With the debut of Arconix Flexslider 1.0 it is now much easier to offer a tight integration with other post types, which is what I’ve added as part of this release. Previously if you created a portfolio slider, the hyperlink always pointed to the portfolio item page, even if your portfolio item was a YouTube video. Now if you create a single-item slider or multi-image carousel, the hyperlink will honor the setting you’ve enabled for that portfolio item. This makes the slider much more functional and valuable to use.

The rest of the changes in this release are minor and focus more on code improvements. Those interested can view the commit history here.

Am trying to use the “Individually set hyperlinks on portfolio items” with the Shopkeeper template. It does not work however. Any idea whether Shopkeeper is blocking the functionality of your plugin?

    • Hi Jeroen,

I’m terribly sorry but I never saw your comment until now. Off the top of my head I’m unsure as to what may be interfering with the functionality. Do the hyperlinks work if you use a different theme? Do you have a link to the site where this is an issue I may be able to look at?
